There are two new case studies posted by Google that I don't recall seeing before.

Yes, I really looked into the SeatGuru one last night, it is definitely a new one. It shows how a truly niche market can make money with AdSense alone. Interesting use of AdSense with the borders - you don't see that so often anymore.

The TestMagic case study went online a couple of weeks ago, and there is mention about it being a case study on their website. TestMagic doesn't use borders, at least in the ads I was looking at.

It's been there for more than 3 weeks.

Do you think these sites get huge spikes in traffic and income becuase of being featured?

So does Google think we should all put a flashing seizure inducing banner on our home page?;)

heh - I was going to say something about that.

"We don't like to annoy users with popups etc.."

but yes, those extremely annoying flashing banners are fine. I think that is a strange choice for a case study. Doesn't show adsense in it's best light, although you could say they are being realistic...

That's me you're talking about. :)

I don't like the "seizure" banners either, and I block them out as much as I can. Those are coming from either TribalFusion or FastClick, and although I keep blocking extreme animation ads, they keep sneaking back in.

Yes, I know that my site doesn't look that good, and I'm trying to improve it, I just don't have much time.

About a spike in traffic--short answer, NO. I get a handful of hits a week from that.

But I was happy to participate anyway.

Welcome biggazillakilla. Great to hear from one of the case study sites.

Did Google contact you about becoming a case study?

Let us know if we can help you in any way and keep us posted on how Adsense is working for you.

Ahhh.......

I am kind of thinking much better sites that use adsense were "overlooked" in picking out these case studies. Not so impressed

biggazillakilla:

I like your site. I think it provides good and certainly unique information. Too bad some of the pages are giving me only one or two ads.

I actually visited it earlier and did not know it was a fellow webmasterworld member. Cool :)

AdSense ads are his only source of revenue.
I think this is wrong... Not only are there banners in the site, but also affiliate type links.

The site footer says:

This site has had 1,906,836 visitors. Site Last Updated May 18, 2004. Today is May 24,2004.

Almost 2 million visitors in 6 days to a seat selection information service?

paybacksa - those are two different statements.

Statement 1: "This website has had 1,907,023 visitors"

and as a completely separate statement,

"This site was last updated ****"

It doesn't say that those visitors all came in that time period. No need to rush out and create a similar site ;)

Hi loan, thanks for the kind words. :) I know my site has a lot of good information, but I also know it has a long way to go before I get it where I want it.

To those who've asked about how or why I appear there--I'd prefer to err on the side of caution by not talking about it, hope you understand. :)

Sure, we understand, but this means that you are buying the beer, right?
