Hi Guys,

I wanted to sign up for adsense, but I got an automated email telling me adsense doesn't support german language at the moment.

The thing is, I have seen german pages with googlesyndication on them, they are serving adwords but I can't? Why? Why and again why?

Any german webmaster know something about this?
Sticky me, for the url.

I believe those are partner sites (more then 20 million pageviews?), I have seen those sites as well all in perfect german and relevant, so the technical issues are all in place, must be the payment outsourcing that holds it back right now, right?

English is an international language and is being read by many people. I have been checking with special tool (I don't remember URL) what ad words would AdSense serve if placed on certain Polish websites! And it showed some advertisements in Polish! So actually google has advertisers from all over the world, not only German, but it does not say anything whether there will be German AdSense (for pages in German language) or not...

I guess there will be but I don't see it coming before 2005...

I often see Danish ads on googles serps, so it also matches Danish words. There are only 5 million Danes, and about 3.5 million with internet access, so it is a fairly small group.

I think I've seen an ad in Albanian on one of my pages - at least I think it was Albanian from the page context, it wasn't any language I'd seen before.

Hi Guys,

Thank you all for your replies.
Google shouldn't be sooo elective. It looks like medium-small page webmasters doesn't count anymore for the big guys at the plex.

Maybe content-matching algo only works well for english now, and other languages are being merged in?

Adwords has a large base of non-english ads. If you have english content that 'targets' another language, you may get non-english ads via AdSense. I've seen this a few times on relevant areas of some sites. But it was very infrequent.

Personally, I can't wait until AdSense supports all languages. There's a lot of web users out there that do NOT use english when browsing :)
