all;

Yesterday I made my first attempt to use the 'alternative ads' option.

and guess what? it causes google ads to disappear completely from our site.

reversing the setting to defaults brought the ads back.

anyone with similar experience?

PS the syntax was correct....

google_alternate_ad_url = "yourlink.html";

Just in case...

How do you mean they disappeared? What was shown, your alternative ad, a PSA or a blank space?

If you were seeing nothing at all, that leads me to believe there was an error in the script, perhaps when you cut and paste. Otherwise you should have seen your alternate ad (if it was uploaded properly) or targeted ads. Sometimes people miss the second javascript when cutting and pasting, which will cause the blank space to appear.

thanks. but i am positive it was not my side. i am using 4 channels, 4 different includes files, and they collapsed one after the other once i added the alternative url. shocked i was. letting it run for half a day, discovering that i have 0 impressions and 0 revenues. restoring it to the original brought the ads back like magic.

Alternative ads should only be induced as a replacement for PSAs. Sounds fishy.
