AdSense makes me happy

I can't help but say how good AdSense has been to our company and me.

We now make money from sites where there was little chance of attracting advertisers. And even if we did get advertisers the admin costs ate up much of the profits. This is not the case with AdSense and the most attractive aspect of the program.

A decent mix of ads and reasonable revenue sharing has been accomplished IMHO.

I would very much like to hear from others about their good experiences using AdSense especially compared to other alternatives for site monetization.

Ditto here! I had some banners before, but with Adsense my part time income is 8x better. Very nice, maybe I will go full time soon.

It certainly does make me happy as well.

Sure it is easy to complain about changes that bring revenues to levels below what they used to be, but it is useful to remind myself that anything is better than what i used to be making ($0.00).

It appears from talk here and email response from adsense that technical problems have been plaguing targeting servers. Hopefuly it will be corrected and well targeted PSA free ads will flow 100% from now on!

Good, positive post, much appreciated!

We've been very happy as well as it added a revenue stream that we didn't have before. Up until recently though. One of the most important things for us is that we can actually plan and predict (like any business) revenue within a range and know how much resource to put into various areas of development. As of this last week or so, we now don't have the confidence to do this with Adsense.

Yes its a 'bonus' we might not have expected and we could look to the heavens and say thank you, but that isn't how business operates, its not how advertising operates and presumably its not how Google wants to operate.

I just hope Google isn't going to suffer from the same malaise as my old company's IT department (big) and constantly tinker and 'fix' things in our department that haven't been given a chance to settle by introducing 'the latest new thingy'.

...oops sorry that wasn't mean to turn into a rant!

adsense has definitely been an excellent filler for the spots of mine that are not taken by paying advertisers. i've been very happy with them and fastclick. can't say the same about amazon :¦

now i'm looking for a 'filler' for the filler .. another contextual ad prog to fill in for the odd PSA or for certain pages that i don't currently use adsense

my only problem with adsense ... i wish i could get my payment sooner .. and i wish they would send it to me electronically

Well, AdSense was the introduction of paid adverts in my site, but not the first source of income. For that I have an affiliation with a software distribution site, which is doing very well.

Since I've joined AdSense I've also added Tribal F to my mix, and I think the site is doing well.

Yep, I second that, thanks AdSense.

I'm just getting started. The ups and downs are mind boggling, but it outperforms cj like a rocket shooting past a freight train.

In spite of a few bumps along the way, Adsense has certainly been good for me. I suspect there are many publishers like myself who have benefited from the opportunity of generating a bit of income rather easily.

Could I make more with other advertizing programs, either 3rd party, or in house? Perhaps, but either would likely require considerably more time and effort, and possibly even expense.

Why expense? Because selling the same amount of ad space on my site would at the very least require an investment of time, and time is money.

Adsense allows me to do what I want, and still generate a reasonable income from the site.

Color me content, for the moment at least. But don't confuse contentment with complacency.

Here's an unexpected bonus.

AdSense has raised my monthly income to a level of sufficient security that I am in a much more favourable position when negotiating rates with third party advertisers.

The upshot is, I can negotiate better - less punitive? - rates with those advertisers as well.

So... a better situation all round.

I have a targeted site that I've been selling adspace directly to advertisers for over 3 years.

The money earned was enough to turn a nice profit every year.

With adsense, I still have the direct to advertiser sales, but now I have another income stream for the same site that beats any other direct sales I've been able to negotiate.

My income with adsense has been growing as well, which leads me to believe that Adwords advertisers are happy with conversions that my site can give and new advertisers seem to be popping up, eager to have space on my site(s).

Adsense definitely makes me happy :)

Thanks AdSense and all, I'm so happy to see this positive thread here. maybe we've complained so much before, even don't know how to show gratitude. Okay, I say thanks again, and mean it!

Before AdSense I couldn't make beans with my site. CJ was a total waste of time, and other banner networks only made any money if they used pop-ups (which I hate). AdSense makes me literally 10 times what the best of the pop-up trash did. So yes, sometimes I gripe about what I'd like to see changed, but I love AdSense non the less!

My site is very small, adsense allowed me to cover by hosting costs on a site with only three digital hits a day.

Without Adsense I'd be out of this business.

With Adsense, perhaps in 8 months I'll be in this business full time :)

I enjoy the diversity of the ads that would be impossible to have otherwise.

We do sell direct and sales are OK and revenue is much better of course than a shared percentage but I find the diversirty and speed at which ads gets served ads a little spice to the sites.
