Last Transaction Date and Time on AdSense earnings reports?

We've never had a big problem with this, but I have read posts on several threads from people frustrated with earnings/impressions report delays on their AdSense accounts.

Why doesn't Google just simply mark the report with the date and time of the last transaction processed for the report? This would be a ridiculously simple programming task.

Just curious.

Yes, that is a good idea.

That would actually reduce the load on their servers from folks (like myself) checking their stats. If I know it was just updated x minutes ago, I'm not going to check again for at least another 5 minutes :)

And then of course a "Next update in X minutes" stamp next to the "Last updated" date.
