Contextual Advertising for Free Fonts Site

I'm curious as to what people think of Contexual Advertising and free 'stuff' sites? Fonts, Wallpapers, etc. All these sites are focused on link exchanges and things, I'm just wondering what would happen.

Does anyone have any ideas? Some font sites get over 50,000 uniques a day, and many more pageviews.

If you search google for 'fonts' you'll find many ads (atleast 8, generally). I did a quick search through adwords and found that the top few were paying .25-.40/click, so does anyone think this idea is reasonable? Also, does anyone know what percent of these prices you recieve as a publisher? I'm just curious, I know a lot of you have a ton of experience with this kind of stuff. Thank you.

I'd guess that most people looking for free fonts aren't potential buyers. A site with font information, reviews, etc. for graphic designers and other professionals would probably be a better venue for font ads. (Of course, if you already have a "free fonts" site, there's no harm in trying AdSense and seeing what happens.)

Lets looks at it from different prospective too..

Generally people looking for free fonts are one step ahead of average a0l user, who might think that internet is mainly for chat and email use.

A person could be looking for fonts for various reasons, but few that comes in my mind right away, would include "something to do with graphics" or "site design" or in other words, these type of person is something that many times many businesses would like advertise to.

Like europeforvisitors mentioned, I would also recommend you to try out AdSense.. before its payout totally dries out or becomes same as other Ad Networks.

You might also want to try joining few discussion boards where they allow advertising offers and I am pretty sure, with good rates, you can find tons of web hosting companies wanting to buy out your advertising quota.

Hope this helps.

I think that 'free' is a flag to AdSense.

My experience applied to your site is to expect very little AdSense revenue. But then again very little to one person is much to another.
