404 Not Found in my adsense iframe

Wow, this caught me by surprise, and I haven't read any reports of it here, but here's the situation:

A domain that's been active for a few months, but "under development" and hasn't been "opened to the public" (no inbound links) has been showing reasonably well-targeted ads since I added adsense a month earlier or so.

Today I take a peek at it and get a Google 404 error in the iframe:

The requested URL /pagead/110044 was not found on this server.

(Moderator: I don't think that's anything that uniquely identifies me, but edit if needed)

I'm surprised to see not an alternate ad, not a PSA, but an error page. Anyone else seeing this?

Edit: / serves targeted ads, sub-pages all have errors. Mediabot showed up promptly once I requested the pages.

Must have been programmed by the same chappie who did Gmail.com on April 1st :)

Arrrrgh, there's a simple explanation. The alternate ad url was invalid:

google_alternate_ad_url = "110044";

Nothing to see here, move along....

Actually this may help someone in the future, who knows.
