Should G increase number of allowed url filters?

To allow for more domains ads to be blocked?

In view of recent changes, do you think G should allow more than the current 200 urls to be blocked.

I for one am getting cloers to the limit, and would appreciate it if they could add in a few more hundred at least.

I think Google should allow for blocking ads by keyword rather than blocking individual URL. Being able to block ads targetting "blue widgets" when your site is about "red widgets" would be far more valuable than having to block "bluewidgets.org" and "bluwdigets.com" and "blue-widgets-for-sale.biz" etc.

Having the ability to block ads with certain terms in them would be useful as well. I've read here, for example, that it's tough running AdSense on sites for writers, since a lot of "sharks" advertise for those keywords. If you could block, for example, any ad containing the phrase "poetry contest" (since most of them are bogus money making schemes) that would be useful.

I agree with jonathanledger. For one thing, blocking by domain is just too time-consuming on a large site. For another, it's unlikely to work very well: Every time I've tried to block off-topic advertisers on my pages, other off-topic advertisers have taken their place.

The domain blocks have never worked on my site, they still show up from time to time and they're not even on topic - just backfill results like charities and marketing firms.

That's a good idea jonathanleger.

With a large site which covers many topics it could also cause problems though as some pages may want ads for redwigets whereas others may want ads for blue widgets.

I think the recent changes made to the algo (or whatever) seem to have highlighted the need for some improvement on blocking, somehow.
