If you adsense is up, post "UP"
If you adsense hasnt changed "SAME"
If you adsense is down, post "DOWN"

What I'm more interested in is what is causing some to go up (ours is on a steady upward trend) and some to go down. There has to be a logic in there somewhere.

US:-

Regular daily fresh content on a niche topic.

Niche topic is widgets that sell high volume low margin. Quite a few AdWords advertisers.

Site has widget reviews, widget news and a widget forum.

So far the downs are winning! Well...they are actually loosing but winning the race while loosing at the same time they are winning the loosing race. Or something to that effect.

Yup, this past week's change is exactly why we would have been much better off if a few people had done a bit of controlled testing to see what the approximate payout % was.

75-90% of publishers are seeing markedly lower EPC (a typical figure seems to be about a 30% drop). Based on the AdWords forum, advertisers are paying about the same for content traffic. Therefore it seems likely that in addition to the other changes, Google has also reduced the overall share of revenue that it pays to publishers.

Note that I am NOT saying Google are wrong or unethical to do so. I just hate being in the position of having to make wild guesses about how the program works based on press release BS.

I'd guess at this point, 80%+ votes in the DOWN category.

You know what they say...

Misery loves company.

Mine has been down slightly for the first few days and have started to climb back up yesterday. Much better and targeted ads now.

Actually, there's been very little discussion of the price changes in the AdWords forum, which would tend to suggest that most advertisers are getting the discounts they were promised. (If most advertisers were paying about the same for traffic after being told that Google was giving them a break, the AdWords forum would be flooded with complaints.)

Only EFV could come to that conclusion.

The one thread I did find on the subject suggested advertisers haven't seen much of a change at all. Some even reported an increase in cost per click, go figure.

I have been reading for days now. AdSense. An algo created to maximize advertisers' revenue.

A surprise? No. We are back to the Florida days of the G algo update.

The mission of Google is clear and those of us that understand this and want to be part of the inevitable will grow.

Those that wish to complain about that which is no more will go broke.

Please my friends. Let's take what we know and build upon it. You have no choice anyway.

The one thread I did find on the subject...

You just said it yourself: "The one thread."

Now, don't you think advertisers would be throwing fits on the AdWords forum (the way publishers are throwing fits here on the AdSense forum) if the lower CPCs they'd been promised turned out to be fictitious?

The AdSense pricing changes may be bad for publishers, but until you can supply evidence that Google is stealing from publishers and lying to advertisers, you might want to think twice before making slanderous allegations in a public forum.
