After the request of a couple of members I have started a new thread as my posts were being lost in the other forum.

The Test - I use Adwords to advertise and I am also an Adsense publisher. I have set up two identical campaigns, same keywords, same CPC, but one set to show on search target only and one set to show on context target only.

The purpose - To see if the price IS different for relevant or non relavent adverts.

After 24 hours, the results are -

Search Av. CPC = 1
Target Av. CPC = 1

I will keep this updated.

Would be interesting to hear more about this - I have not yet set up such a controlled test, but I can say I have seen no drop at all in Adwords prices I am paying since the changes.

Next Update -

Search Av. CPC = 1
Target Av. CPC = 0.99

Not a very big difference. But thinking about it, the nature of my adwords and adsense (which is timeshare), G may not think there is a big difference in the relevance on where the ad is shown. I think what would be a better test is to test this with products, not services. Can anyone else do this?
