Besides the ads in sites like slashdot and other technical sites, the calls that some webmasters have been getting trying to get them to try the product, and the movie that they came up with. I noticed that they changed the page that you get when you go from the home page and click on "advertise with us".
We used to be a footnote like an afterthought. Now we command half of the page :)

Could be that they like the branding #s and not so much the profit numbers. Though, I suspect they are making good money..

My goal is to get that customized service at the 20 million page mark...but my shorter term goal is 200,000 pages.

I've got that impression also, Google are just going into 'controlled hyperdrive' - everything seems to have fallen in place for them, the books are balancing out VERY nicely. AdSense must be making up a nice wedge of their profits, taking into consideration the vast network of advertisers, and quality publishers they can't really go wrong.
Lets hope they don't push too hard =)
I enjoy a nice swim, but I don't fancy being around when the flood arrives.
