Are FindWhat, Overture, Ah-Ha ads considered 'competitive'

I noticed on the Adsense program policies page the following:

We do not permit AdWords ads to be published on web pages that also contain what could be considered competing ads. This would include all content-targeted ads as well as text-based ads. Text-based ads, for this situation, can be loosely defined as ads that mimic AdWords ads or appear to be associated with AdWords ads on your site. We do allow affiliate or limited-text links.

Does this mean that it would be against the Adsense policy to serve PPC ad's such as Overture on a page that is also serving Adsense ads?

Is anyone out there serving both Adsense and PPC ad's from another vendor?

Has anyone been contacted by Google Adsense and told to stop serving both?

Also, does anyone know what they mean by "We do allow affiliate or limited-text links."

That seems to imply that serving PPC ads is ok. Am I misreading this?

You should contact AdSense before trying this, but IMO the things you describe are clearly competing products and are therefore not allowed.

i don't think these are considered competitive. i wrote to adsense a couple of hours ago asking if i could use adsense on my PPC search results page (contains findwhat and kanoodle links) - i got a reply within 4 hours telling me its A-okay to put the adsense ads on the search results.

I always suspected that Google was psychic!

To me that response from Google is unexpected, not just because AdSense would be is side-by-side with its competitors, but also because the consensus here has been that Google will let you use AdSense on internal search results but not web search results.
