Is adsense income for a click always credited that day?

For instance:
If a click occurs on tuesday, is the income for that click always credited on tuesday ... or could it be credited on wednesday, in some cases?

I often see my stats updated into the following day. Stats are not real time, they are generally a few hours behind.

I sometimes get the impression that it may be more extreme than just a few hours ... it can seem like income reporting is lagged by an entire day.
The tracking scripts have proven to be an eye-opener, even more so when tied in with the channel data.

Yes, Google has stated it can take up 24 hours to be credited for all clicks.

Ah, that might explain what I'm seeing. Or I think I'm seeing. Or something ...

Does it also depend on the time zone?
For example, a click which occurs at 2 am on Tuesday in the East can be credited on Monday since Adsense is based on the Pacific time zone.

I am sure google can give faster results but chooses to lag the data... My guess is so we are not able to work out the percent or revenue from each click. I am sure that many publishers are trying to find this out so they can manipulate their income.

I don't think it is. If you track clicks you can see that sometimes the clicks move over to the next day. Even if you set the time to pacific.
Is this on purpose or not? Frankly with this program you are better off looking at large periods of time.
