Clicking an adsense ad

Quick question:

When a user clicks on an adsense ad on my site, does it load in a new window or within the existing one?

I'm not going to click on my own ads to see what happens!

That would be a nice feature to chose from. The AS webmaster gets to decide if it's gonna be same windows or new one...

That's nice to know as I've also been wondering. If I were given a choice I'd have them open in a new window.

That's the point of having adsense on your site, you are being paid to send a visitor to another site
it's one of the google TOS that it does not open in another browser window
