hello,

i am considering to use adsense on some of the password protected pages.

Is it allowed without violating the adsense terms?

If it is allowed, will i get targeted ads , as i will not be allowing the bots to crawl those password protected pages?

Thanks for any feedback.

Cheers

You might get ads targeted to the theme of your site, but if you don't let the Mediapartners bot in then they won't be targeted to individual pages. I haven't heard of password protected pages leaking into the Google index so you might want to consider granting access by a combination of user agent and IP address to allow Mediapartners (and nothing but Mediapartners in).

Thanks you. But does Google permit its publishers to use adsense code on password protected pages? without violating the TOS?

Thanks

I'm not sure if it violates their TOS, but for targeting the ads, you may want to allow the IP range used by the media bot to enter and crawl those pages without the need for a password.

I asked about this previously, and the AdSense team told me that they do not want AdSense on password protected pages, I am guessing due to privacy concerns.
