Only 2/4 ads shown?

Using the vertical tower on my site, I just noticed that all of a sudden I am only showing 2/4 ads. The rest are just white space. I have blocked out ~15 irrelevant or low ctr ads, but I haven't changed anything in the last day or so. Now I know that I get low paying clicks for my category (books), but I would think there would be hundreds of advertisers. Do I need to unblock some and start letting the bad ads through?

That's an option. When there's not enough supply to fill all ad slots I don't unblock ads I consider irrelevant, misleading, etc. I either continue to let AdSense show if it has a high enough effective CPM, rotate in more affiliate ads in its place or disable AdSense temporarily and show affiliate ads 100% of the time.

I just noticed more blank ad spaces and wondered if it has anything to do with it's being the end of the month. Don't some GoogleAd advertisers set a limit on what they will spend in a month?

Or could it be a leap year issue? I know Cpanel deleted my monthly log yesterday, and it may have been related...
