I have an image gallery to which I have recently uploaded several hundred pages. It seems as though there are an unhealthy amount of psa's running. I'm having a hard time figuring out why some pages get psa's and others get highly targeted ads. For instance, in one gallery on a hike and ski to a relatively obscure peak the psa's will show up on every other page, with highly targeted ads in between. I could understand if there was some sort of pattern to define, but it doesn't appear to be related to the page. Pages which only contain the name of an obscure peak may get a relevant ad while pages with captions that include 'skiing' or 'powder' end up with a PSA. Additionally, the same page will get an ad one time, and a psa five minutes later. Each page consists of a large image, a 10-40 word caption, breadcrumbs, title, and two 120X60 affiliate ads sandwiching a 468X60 adsense unit. Some questions.
1. Will entering relevant meta data decrease the amount of psa's shown?
2. These are all relatively new, will the amount of psa's shown decrease over time?
3. Is the amount of psa's shown srictly a function of adwords inventory since they already seem to know what the site is about?
I tried to ad a linkshare affiliate code to the alternate url. I just ended up with blank space even where they would have had an ad.
