Since after the big slowdown, my homepage has been displaying paying ads every 4rth or 5th pageview then back to PSA's. During this time when paying ads show, my site has showing highly targetted ads, and a completely different set of default ads. Anyone else notice something similar?
It looks like more servers where installed to handel the adsense traffic, but the adsense database isn't in sync across all servers
Try using a US proxy and see if the same problem exists - there just might not be enough ads in your geolocation for your keywords.
The fact that mediabot hasn't stopped by since the 11th is not really relevant, since it can even take weeks for the mediabot to pay another visit to a page running AdSense.
If you are seeing intermittent PSAs, particularly since it shows on some page views, and a few reloads later it will change, it is likely a combination of ad availability and geolocation targeting. If you were never seeing targeted ads at all, it could be a different issue all together.
Given that there are well over 1000 advertisers in my area that is extremely unlikely. I display an alternate page that is blank and whenever its called i record that hit to a database, for just that one page. I am seeing paying ads about 10% of the time. My homepage has been showing targetted ads since july, and stopped showing them constantly about a week ago. I'll email adsense on monday and see whats going on..
