Hello - we have adsense on two different yet similar websites... where the content is nearly identical (same small business article).

On one site - the Adsense ad's are VERY relevant - a case model for how effective this product can be.

On the 2nd site - the ads are far inferior. The main different.

The 2nd site - the adsense is in a rotation with other banner ad's

- the article on both sites is 100% identical - yet on
the second site, there are some extra text in the left
nav. and some other ad's

Question - does aDsense within a rotation dimish the quality of the ad's presented?

Do other banner ad's on the site diminish the quality of the adsense ad's.

The extra text on the left nav is some terminolgy in the smallbusiness word... a few paragraphs.

If you have thoughts on this, I can share the two URL's

thanks!

Does the AdSense ad appear in the identical place on each page? I believe it is likely the extra text rather than the rotation causing problems, particularly if it is close to the AdSense script. But ad placement makes a difference as well.

I put AdSense in a rotating AdServer. The ads were targeted fine, but Google told me this a no-no
[webmasterworld.com...]

They take the term "pasted" very seriously.

anyway - the ad is in the same location but is rotating with some other banners/

also the page that is not as effective... has other banner ad's and side nav ad's -- and some minor extra text.

i dont want to violate any rules but if someone has some thoughts <snip>

thanks!

Is there any reason why you can't use both, such as the rotator on the top and AdSense on the bottom of the page, or a variation of that? As long as there are not any other competitive contextual ads in the rotation, it is permitted by AdSense to run other ads and AdSense on the same page.
