Did this ever happened to you?

You log on to check your today’s states and you see a figure of x dollars. You log out.
You then log on again a few minutes later and you notice that the figure you’ve seen a few minutes earlier just droped by a couple of dollars.

Happened to me a few times in the last week or so. Just wondering what can this be.
seams like very weird system adjustments.

Or another scenario, you know you have an x amount of viewers currently browsing your network of sites. When you check your adsense states (every 10 or so minutes – yes I know, I basically live on my sites ) you notice that the adsense states nicely ticking up as users probably click the ads. But then like magic
the states freeze up for a good 4 or 5 hours and when you check then you only notice a slight difference in earning up to this point, although you know that the same amount of viewers were and still are scrolling your network. Question asked, whats with the 4-5 hours black hole (adsense states wise). Seems like no clicks are being recorded during that time frame. Weird! (I have a more or less consistent number of viewers the day around)

Not a couple of dollars, but I reported on December 1st [webmasterworld.com] that I saw this behavior (scroll down to msg. #26).

In the AdSense TOS or FAQ it mentions that reporting stats are delayed. There have been numerous threads in this forum about it. Sometimes reporting stats appear to be delayed a short time, sometime many hours. And there's been speculation, which I tend to agree with, that the updating of invididual metrics (impressions, clicks, revenue) might be staggered in order to make it more difficult to determine EPC, CTR and other measures over short periods.

1) Multiple servers, updating in sequence but slowly.

2) This is normal (if annoying) behavior.
