English ads on a page containing foreign language words

How do I keep make sure AdSense dislpays English ads?

For quite some time I have had an online tutorial for a specific foreign language on one of my sites. About 30% of each page is in English with the remainder being in the foreign language.

I put AdSense on those pages, and just as I had feared, the AS ads are in the foreign language even though the tutorials are used primarily by native English speakers.

My questions:

1 - Is there a practical way to induce AdSense to display ads in English only?

2 - Would encrypting the foreign language parts of each page do the trick?

3 - How does Google feel about encrypting parts of a web page? Would it lead to a penalty?

Thanks.

You can insert the foreign language part as an iframe. That way, Google will treat this as two separate pages: the one with your English content and the one with the foreign language content.

However, this does not guarantee that you'll see only English ads, because it depends also on the content (of your English page). If this content contains words like "Spanish", chances are you'll get Spanish ads (that's at least my experience).

Thanks tombola. I'll give that a try.
