To be TOS conform, all values are based on the period 19 June to 26 June
_____________19..26__28..05__missing
impressions:_1000_____561______439
clicks:______1000_____315______685
earnings:____1000_____376______624
CTR:________________-44%_____+56%
EPC:________________+19%_____-9%
CPM:________________-33%_____+42%
The column missing is the difference between the first time period and the last 8 days.
My current traffic has a much higher part of repeated visitors and much less from Google.
So it seems Google traffic has a lower EPC, but much higher CTR and CPM.
I know how depressing it is, to view the stats since this change.
But it's also an opportunity to study about different EPC, CTR, CPM at different types of visitors.
So I hope the other 27 June victims post also here their experiences.
In July, the traffic is going up or at least back to normal. But, sadly, the earning is down compare to June.
Usually when i saw posting in this forum about decreasing in traffic, I would do some promotion to boost my site's traffic.
Plus, I've consistently added a couple of MFA sites every day into my filter list.
The impact is: more related ads show up and increase in EPC. I have been doing this for almost a month. Surprisingly the CTR is relatively stabil with an uptrend.
I was on vacation, so please excuse the dumb question, but what exactly happened on 27th June that you label as "disaster"?
Looking at my stats, I see no change, alas no abnormal change. The swings in the stats seem to be within range. I will take a closer look later today, but at first glance I see nothing.
Can you enlighten me, please?
It would be a shame to let "the value of Google traffic" (which you brought up, and which is interesting) get lost in off-topic chatter about Google search.
the infamous 5-billion-page site?
I do not know the name of the 5 billion page site.
On each of sensless name.info are many links to other sensless name.info
subdomain.domainname.info
all a sensless combination of letters and numbers.
I checked at 3 of them the registration date
June 27, 2006
In the registration info also only sensless garbage, no real addresses, no real telephon numbers.
I checked with text fragments from 7 complete different sites.
I discovered always this huge spam network.
Looked at my stats now, and can't confirm your findings (for my sites).

I am not sure how you calculated the CTR, EPC, and CPM value for the 2nd period and for "missing", but I can say that these values were unchanged (CTR) or improved (EPC, CPM) for my sites.
I think the "backswing" that I see in the 2nd period looks like summer/World Cup slump to me. There were at least six (high-end) football matches in the 2nd period. This affected my sites to a certain degree.
Hope this helps.

Seems this are normal fluctuations.
I had at my 5 best earning sites lost more than 80% of Google search traffic.
In the mean time, it turns out it's war time.
Google vs some huge spam networks.
Try
site:.info "your-domain-name.com"
And You will see spam only results. Maybe 3 legitim sites in 100.

Okay, maybe I'm dense, but how many users would ever search on that string?

It's just a test how many times a certain domain is in the spam network.
They have covered in the spam network several millions of typing mistakes.
Try "klimaxanlage"
Yesterday 176 pages listed, today reduced to 94
The strange at the spam network is, that the business model is unknown. They link only together other spam network sites. No ads.
But it's a huge investment.
domain registrations, I assume several ten thousands
computers, I assume several hundred
electric power, I assume electric bills in several ten thousand $
So who invests several hundred thousand $ in a spam network, where I can see no revenues?
6/16 - 6/23 was one of my better weeks in some time...made some nice changes to layout.
This is a non-trival site with weekday average page views of about 15,000. It is a statistically adequate sample set to determine trends.
Something is up...

My site averages 45,000-50,000 daily page views, and the CTR for July is running almost exactly what it was in May (CTR was down a bit in June before it started its July climb, but not enough to raise eyebrows).
I haven't seen evidence of any new trend, except for a slight softness in traffic over the last few weeks, presumably because of the World Cup (which interests my European readers) and my typical midsummer mini-lull.
Can you compare this summer's numbers to the same period's numbers from last year and the year before? If so, are you comparing apples to apples (e.g., the same types and numbers of ad units on the same types of pages)?
that's exactly what's happening to me as well... i first noticed those sites appearing several weeks ago, the only thing above the fold is mfa garbage, followed by a bunch of stolen phrases and no direct links back to any legit websites.
my stats this month show a 40% drop in google traffic, and the epc has tanked right along with it.
i wonder if google is ever going to fix their search engine problems.
