The adsense TOS says it cannot be placed on pages built solely for advertising.

Does this include product pages, where the purpose of the page is to profile/sell a particular product? Can it be placed there or not?

About 70% of my traffic is through product pages and I'm thinking of placing it in some key areas make up for lost conversion.

Yes. A page create solely for advertising is not the same as an ecommerce or informational page about a product.

It sounds as though it is fine, as long as the page(s) meet the Terms/Policies/FAQ as well. And there does need to be enough content - some product pages don't offer enough content to be properly spidered. If it is low on content, you could be warned by the AdSense Team to remove the code from those pages for that reason.

Thanks Jenstar and richmondsteve! I'll give it a try and see what happens. I'll probably start on a small scale though, phase it in.
