It's quite enjoyable to think back and realise at one point I was happy if I made $1/day, now it's more like $5/day... so long as one keeps writing articles and adding content it seems to keep going up.

Everyone was talking about the mini fridge they received after generating one million clicks
Was that in one month or "in toto" for your account?
USA only?
Hey...where's ma phridge?
I kwalifrie:-)
Just around the corner we have a shop that gives you a free fridge if you buy a 10k kitchen.
Not complaining here, just putting things in perspective;-)
ps i pay 120$ a year for hosting :-(
BTW, I'm up to $300/day with AdSense. The extra $9,000 per month is still a fraction of my total monthly revenue but I'd have to be a flipping idiot not to call AdSense a great new success story for my one man company. How ironic it is that I make more money in one month than my high school guidance counselor makes in one year. You know, the one who told me I wouldn't amount to anything.

I finally got my first check and started to look for into it. The 10 cents daily went to 20 then $1, then $3 and so on. It's obviously no where near my main bread and butter.
I think the average time depends on:
1. Are you putting it on a brand new site.
2. Are you really working hard to make clicks (optimizing pages for adsense) or is it just a way to add some income if luck should have it.
3. Number of websites/pages you end up putting it on.
