Hours, days, weeks, months -- your mileage may vary.

How much time did you took?
I want to know the average.

I suppose there is an "average", but it's pretty much meaningless.

Some folks install Adsense and pop $100.00 in hours, others take months to earn that much.

How you do depends on your site topic, your page layout, the available ads, your traffic levels, etc, etc, etc.

About 6 weeks for my first $100, then the next one about 4wks after that, always getting faster as I add more and more article to my site.

It's quite enjoyable to think back and realise at one point I was happy if I made $1/day, now it's more like $5/day... so long as one keeps writing articles and adding content it seems to keep going up.

6 months, but that doesn't mean anything to anyone. My site was from scratch, but if I added Adsense to an existing popular site, then it could be hours/days.

I had the first time more than $100 a month in June 2005 when I started with AdSense.

I had several well established sites as I started with AdSense.

Stable, reliable, going unifluenced throuhg all Google changes...

...until 27 June.

1 month, 21 days, 2 hours and 28 seconds.

How does that help you though? A better question would be, what amount of effort and what niche does it take ... etc

About 36 hours but then i had a well established website with big traffic before i even considered putting any adverts on, it was started as a fun hobby not with any commerical intentions.
I only introduced ad sense as i had to double the size of the server i was using to cope with increased traffic etc.and wanted to recoup some of the costs.

10% of a month

I had a 10 year pre-existing site and just dropped my code in. It was a total lark and now I make 3X what my previous returns were on a paid product that is now free to download.

I made my first $100 after 10 hours. I just made it through my first full month with AdSense and I'm pleased to have the flexibility to integrate AdSense tastefully. For years I disregarded AdSense until I attended the Boston PubCon 2006 - my first PubCon ever. I attended some AdSense sessions. Everyone was talking about the mini fridge they received after generating one million clicks with AdSense and I thought, man, I want that fridge! Haha. The extra $7,250 a month ain't bad either. But I did it for the fridge ;) So, all the coin I spent in Boston has returned to me many times over. I've got a ways to go before I generate a million clicks but, heck, a man has to have goals.

Do you mean $100 per day, or $100 per month? Or just $100, period?

Never heard about the fridge before. I just checked Google and it appears that's a gift to AdWords advertisers, not AdSense publishers. The most elaborate gift I ever received as a publisher was that glowing radio.

A million Adwords clicks and then they give you a fridge? Just for the record, in my experience, good converting Adwords clicks in most competitive niches go from at least 10 cent to well over a few bucks each. So basically, one has to spend 100K up to a few million bucks to get ... a fridge?

Just around the corner we have a shop that gives you a free fridge if you buy a 10k kitchen.

Not complaining here, just putting things in perspective;-)

I know I may sound the lowest of the lot but it is all of 11 months and I am yet to reach 100$ I believe I will reach 100$ in the next 2 months so I guess I will take around 13 months for me to reach 100$ but then again I updated it on a daily basis in the first 1 month and then I started updating once a month and then I did not update for a couple of months and now I have started updating at least once a week now.

ps i pay 120$ a year for hosting :-(

Yeah well with adsense stats down and talk of reimbursement blah, I think they'll pay for all those mini fridges!

Almost 2 months ... Nov 18th to Jan 13th ...

In April, I did an average of $55.02 per day

But right now ... I don't know why ... but it is way low ... this month, I only did an average of $17.02 per day ... eCPM of $1.41

First $100 was 210 days. Now I make $100 every 3 days or so. That's 7000% faster! ;)

The fridge is being given to both high performing AdWords advertisers and AdSense publishers. I've got a ways to go but all the AdSense cash I'm making helps make the time pass more pleasantly.

BTW, I'm up to $300/day with AdSense. The extra $9,000 per month is still a fraction of my total monthly revenue but I'd have to be a flipping idiot not to call AdSense a great new success story for my one man company. How ironic it is that I make more money in one month than my high school guidance counselor makes in one year. You know, the one who told me I wouldn't amount to anything.

It took me like 5 months to make my first $100. However, I was never into adsense much. I just threw it up on a new site as a test. The pennies came rolling in daily.

I finally got my first check and started to look for into it. The 10 cents daily went to 20 then $1, then $3 and so on. It's obviously no where near my main bread and butter.

I think the average time depends on:

1. Are you putting it on a brand new site.
2. Are you really working hard to make clicks (optimizing pages for adsense) or is it just a way to add some income if luck should have it.
3. Number of websites/pages you end up putting it on.

Based on current earings I expect to get my first $100 in August 2007. Some high earning pages have been toned down recently as the clicks seem to be worth less these days.
