last 3 days ( With the same number of impressions) my clicks suddenly dropped to 10 per cent of my average.

average: 18/ 22 clicks per day

last 3 days: 2/3 click per day

Can this be a google technical problem? should I contact google since this never happened before.

thanks in advance

I think your numbers are a bit too low to give a solid explanation. How long are you with Adsense?

Although your numbers are low, you indeed have a valid point if your are with Adsense for almost 2 years. Have you tracked this down to a single channel? Can you see if the downfall of your clicks is caused by one or a few specific pages?
Have you checked those pages to see if perhaps they are serving PSA´s at the moment?
Have you made changes to your site that could have caused a different kind of ads to display?
Sorry to ask so many questions, perhaps they will lead to an explanation...

The real reason click are down is because people are watching the soccer playoffs.

If your drop in clicks is not simply due to a drop in your traffic but is a 90% drop in CTR it could be because your ads are not well targetted or attractive anymore. Have you changes in the types of ads displayed?

Well, today my clicks are down quite a bit (even on pages where the CTR is high due to some extremely relevant ads) because the ads seem to be not so relevant today. I hope things will sort themselves out soon. I am hoping I will get a click dump though.

Let's not forget that July 4th weekend is coming this weekend for the U.S. - so if you target the States and don't deal with the beach, fireworks, picnics/bbq, or travel - you're probably going to see a slowdown.

At least in theory :)

Could also just be poorly-targeted ads.

our usa channel dropped 90% of usual totals in recorded impressions, clicks and earnings over last 3 days

no drop in server traffic showing, basically pages not serving ads = just blank spaces... it simply takes a page refresh to get the relevant ads to show.

so must be some sort of re-indexing going on for a new targeting algo...?

our local stats in oz are all cool n steady... just usa results really off... hope it comes good soon...

ok -i've made a totally huge mistake... the ads do show - but NOT in Opera 9... though somehow don't think 90% of our users suddenly switched to Opera 9 over the last 3 days - LOL - while I dig my Opera, this is not good... as Opera actually says there is a problem with the Google CSS code... that aside = so something else must be happening as 90% drop across board with impressions / clicks and all server stats the same is just weird... so maybe there is a backlog or tracking problem? it's happened before when there is a system update but never this long in lag / erroneous reporting :(

it's a wait and see scenario...

Same thing happened to me. Then one day I saw a huge increase in clicks for it to only go back down again. I'm afraid to contact Google about it though

Are you getting a bunch of site targeted CPM ads? That could be why the CTR is down, but you're talking about a big drop. Are your earnings down too?

it is a big drop - it's like the ads aren't even showing anymore... but when we check they are there....

Have no idea what is happening - but a 90% drop in recorded ad impressions and earnings really bites... especially when page impressions / traffic are same levels as always...

this happened on 23rd June - and still showing barely any ad impressions... am going to try putting on images / video ads see if that makes a differece :-)
