Two pages getting 40% of all clicks?

Strange behaviour on my website

I have two pages on my site that are long lists of widgets where I make fun of the names and make bad puns.

As I had originally noticed I was getting a lot of search hits on those pages, I decided to try AdSense on them to see how it went.

Those two pages are doing very well it seems, getting 40% of all the clicks on my website and completely stumping me as to why other sections that I actually update more often don't get anywhere near as many clicks.

Has anyone had any similar experiences?

Thanks.

easy.. when you make fun, I'm sure you spell them differently -- therefore, various spellings where you make fun of are getting tons of hits of people misspelling the names... that's what i think :)

I think it's more than that. Sounds like people think those pages are great fun. You probably get a lot of word of mouse visits. These visitors may not be that interested in the rest of your site and so some leave by your ads.

Hopefully your popular pages are getting links as well which will bring them up in the serps. That can help build up all of your site if you use the power of internal linking.

Those two pages are really long and were originally the one document that I decided to split into two to make it easier when I was writing it.

I think the content for those pages originally took about 50 hours to write it, but that was about three years ago now.

Most of the content on my site these days are galleries, so I just put AdSense on the index pages as there is not enough text for it to work properly (usually just get PSA's.)

Thanks.
