The Importance of Ad Blending

After testing, and watching CTR, Blending seems appropriate.

I have tested various blending techniques, from coloured backgrounds, to various border colours.

Basically, I found that if I use a white background, with a site friendly border, the CTR is at its highest.

I tried a red border, which wasn't site friendly, and the CTR dropped away. Maybe Ad Blindness was the cause.

I tried coloured backgrounds, and the site b/g is white, but this didn't work either.

My biggest success has been with a border matching some of the site colouring, and a white background. All text remained the same colour as the content of the pages [including Title and URL].

Any observations from others would be appreciated :-)

Hi,

What seems to have worked best for me is having the ad background colour the same as that of the site (just off-white), though I occasionally use highly-contrasting colours in my ad rotation to fight off ad-blindness.
