Just noticed today that all the ads on my site are for Adsense related topics, several of which appear to be from google itself. site is NOWHERE CLOSE to this niche and everything was fine until today..

anyone else seeing this today?

My ads are perfectly targeted. Nobody seems to be clicking on them but they're perfectly targeted!

i wish i could figure out what the problem is.

it makes my site look really hacky.. its killing my earnings, and google is promoting itself through adsense which if i was a person going after referrals would make me even more upset.

Are you sure you aren't looking at it offline? I get ads like that when I'm working on my site offline.

Found one ad, completely unrelated this morning and I filtered it.

just to keep this thread updated for future searchers:

last night i implemented the section targeting tags as found in the adsense help pages to ignore the only thing that i could fathom triggering these ads (my adbrite "your ad here" link)

also filtered about 12 URLS of these ads at their top level.

this morning: no change.. still showing Adsense related ads.

i've emailed google for help and will update again when i hear back. yesterday's revenue was 1/5th of what has been my typical average. today is looking worse so far.

Another Update.. On a leaderboard, they are now showing a block that says
"

Change To Ads About:
Google Searchbox
Google Websearch
Google AD
Google Adsense"

..obviously the adsense bot indexed my site as being about google,.. which it is not... soo frustrating. no email response yet

OH MY GOD, that's crazy, I just checked my ads (I hadn't seen them for a few days, because I use Adblocker), and HALF of the ads are totally unrelated!

Normally they are perfect for my site's subject but at the moment... uff

Change To Ads About:
Google Searchbox
Google Websearch
Google AD
Google Adsense

Saw this in a 160x600 skyscraper yesterday. Didn't have a clue about it though.

Perfect targeting on some pages, way out on others as always. I think the world cup has more to do with my poor CTR at the moment than poor targeting.

Got a response.

G basically told me to wait 2 weeks and that my adsense for search box was in violation of their TOS. i guess you arent allowed to apply your css to it(ALL text boxes on my site have css applied to them,.. didnt think it was a big deal since i didnt do anything to draw attention to it). they just told me to change it in 3 days or theyd stop serving me ads

looks like its gonna be a frustrating 2 weeks for me :-/

So,.. I set up alternate ads but I can't even show them because Adsense is just showing UNRELATED ads, as opposed to none. I can't win here :-/

I'm really curious if I'm being penalized for something.
