Checking updated AdSense reports

Refreshing Firefox doesn't provide an updated report

A few days ago I added AdSense ads on some of the pages on my site. I'm using a Mac with the Firefox browser.

Whenever I refresh my AdSense Reports page, the same data is posted again. The only way I am able to see my AdSense report in its most up-date-date form is to quit the browser (which clears its cache), open it again, and log on to AdSense again. I can do this in under a minute, but it's still a waste of time.

Does anyone have any suggestions for getting the browser to post updated data when it's refreshed?

Hi and welcome to Webmasterworld.

Adsense stats aren't in real-time, so won't update when you refresh your browser.

Also, when they do update, they won't necessarily update impressions and clicks at the same time. They should correlate at the end of the Google day, but even then, that's not always the case, and you might get clicks from the previous day showing in today's figures.

Welcome to the vagueness of Adsense ;)

no.. adsense stats are updated every half an hour or hour or so... (ecpm, CTR, earnings, channel earnings, today earnings, all time earnings ...) all are updated at different time... when Im bored I just observe it clicking through these few pages seeing different stats :)

I do the same thing. If I want to see the latest reports, I have to shut down the browser, whether that's Firefox, Safari or Mozilla.

Thanks for that.

I have noticed that when I have a report open, I can see more-current results for the current day if I select "Choose date range: all time".

Which can sometimes be very depressing, especially when nothing's changed since last time :)

Adsense isn't a real-time update system (dammit), instead it updates periodically. How often this happpens isn't something Google shares with us, but from observation it changes constantly, sometimes being 15 minutes, sometimes being a few hours (when the update is delayed this long you see what is called a 'click dump' - the sudden appearance of a large amount of data).
In addition, Adsense appears to be running several servers - you can get different numbers by running different reports sometimes. Mostly they are in sync, but sometimes...
4 particular ways I sometimes get different numbers are:
- the overview report
- an 'aggregate report' for this month (shows daily totals - very useful for the hours after Google midnight as you can watch the previous day increase and watch for the first impressions and clicks of the new day)
- a saved report, featuring URL channels
- a hand selected report including url *and* custom channels (ie select from the channel and date drop downs rather than selecting a daved report). Generally running a saved report with this data and then hitting the 'display report' button is enough to generate this different data.
Hope this helps you get that all important 10 minute advance notice on your clicks! ;)

To follow up on this, installing the Adsense Notifier extension in my Firefox browser provides a current report summary at the bottom of any open browser window.
