Any sites with examples?

Blend in totally, stick out a little, stick out a lot?

Hey All.. recently my traffic has gone up dramatically and im very happy to be making $40-$50 each day for the past 2 weeks or so. However.. my CTR is less than 1%! I know this can be improved dramatically, but how?

Currently my site is basically all white, completely blended leaderboard at the top(white background and border, same link colors as others on my site)

Currently I am working on a slight redesign to my site, making the header of the page a black logo/nav/adsense bar. now, i dont know if i should try:

a. completely blended ads
b. ads with a background matching a color in my logo
c. ads with a background matching a color in my logo, and a white outline

can anyone give me suggestions on what you've found to be best? or is there any sites that link to examples of how different sites are presenting their adsense? if it helps, my general topic involves entertainmnent.

for me having the title color contrasting to the overall site colors works best. The other text is black (like all other text on the site). No borders. This makes the ads stand out but not glaringly so.

/of course your mileage may vary

I use the same background color for my navigation as I do for my text ads, I feel this puts a connection to the two in my visitors minds, also I recently started to put one image ad on there, in a very "in your face" spot. I think this helps with ad blindness, they ignore the obvious image ad and then are drawn to the similar to navigation text ads.

uh oh... i went ahead and made the changes on the site a couple hours ago.. and one specific channel is showing a 133% CTR.. 12 impressions, 16 clicks..

worry? or wait? maybe just a discrepancy in updating that will make sense later?

Certainly don't worry as you haven't done anything wrong by simply changing a color scheme. (Although it is against Google TOS to quote exact figures)

You will probably find that your ctr will stabilise to a lower level, but nonetheless an improvement on your previous figures.

just in case anyone is interested,.. i decided to run an experiment to see how different combos of placement and color affect my site...

using asp, i display a different adsense block depending on the generation of a random number. i have 4 seperate channels set up to see which gets the most clicks.

#1: fully blended into the navigation bar ..performing poorly
#2: contrasting background in navigation bar..second best but still poor
#3: contrasting background AND border.. the worst
#4: blended into page, BELOW nav bar.. performing best(still not great)

#4 was JUST added(only a few hundred impressions so far) , while the other 3 were running all night.. so i will give it time to see if it drops or what
