What do you think?
I think he is right: with each user who is telling about his successes made in Adsense people are more motivated to work on more earnings --> more competition. Or with every tip shared here people will get better nad competition grows again.
Sorry, I don't want to be "uncsocial" as we in Germany would say - I'm just wondering how big this "forum-factor" is, of course there are hundreds Adsense-Forums around.
What do you think is the primary place where Google gets more webmasters for Adsense:
- google.com
- referrals from Adsense webmasters
- forums, blogs, communities etc where people talk about Adsense
?
I have no idea, but maybe it's 30:20:50?
According to IMRG this week on-line sales now take 1/10th of all retail sales in the United Kingdom at about STG 50 Billion and a further STG 30 Billion of off-line retail sales are influenced by customers' activities on the web such as research on products.

< $1/day, and maybe get themselves kicked out of the program (or simply give up).
It would be interesting to know the size of the sub USD 100 pot that will never be paid out!
Is that sitting in a Google account to "rectify" a BAD quarter's trading?
Would be interesting to know the exact figure though.
Talking about adsense is fun!
I just wanted to jump into this thread and tell my story,. so for those of you who are interested, here it is:
As I said, I had adsense on my site from the day I started it. I saw google itself advertised for it around the net, saying something like this: "Use Google Adsense to earn some extra pocket money" ... so I tried it. I was thinking that if this little thingy could give me an extra dollar a day it would have been great! After all, that is 1 extra dollar I wouldn't have if I didn't try it.
First I didn't really pay much attention to it, the ads were there, showing everything else but relevant ads.. I didn't think about it. After a month or so, I was working on the design, and for some reason I emailed the adsense team, asking if they could have a look at my site, and check out why my ads weren't targeted. 24 hours later the ads shown on my pages were very relevant to my sites topic.
I checked the stats. My Google ads were suddenly bringing in twice as much as they did when the ads were none-relevant. - This got me thinking. Maybe there is something to it after all? If this "little" change made me twice as "rich" as I was the week before, what if I got twice as many visitors, twice the CTR? Could adsense be a way to earn some GREAT extra $$ every month?
Nice! I've always liked the idea of passive income, I've been working with MLM, and I've seen what passive income can do with your economics.. I did not succeed in the MLM business, but what about adsense?
Now, I don't want you to think that I'm a greedy a#¤hole, thinking of nothing else than money... even though I certainly am!
I just don't want you to think it ;) - You see, the main reason I want to make it with adsense, is because I have this hobby called computers and internet, I also have this other hobby called "making money work for more money" - I just like to see what I can get out of things I start.. IF I commit myself on doing it until I'm done, until my goal is reached! And since I understood that adsense could make me more than $1 a day if I worked hard for a year or two, I searched around, looking for information and success stories about adsense. Then I found /forum89 ...
And here I am, totally convinced that I_ some day Will_Make_It .. So I guess me giving you guys competion is a combination of Google itself and this forum. So watch out ;)
Best Regards
and good luck to you all!
-Will
I wonder what a bread would cost in a country like that.. $0,0018?
Would've been nice to live in a country with this low wages and prices, if you had $50 from your adsense account /day
op, with respect to your fears: don't be overcautious. adsense is an invitation to everyone. but fortunately 99% of people are incapable of webmaster affairs. they have no clue of proper internet marketing and will probably never have even when reading through all this stuff. and from the rest 1%, most have no conception of your site topic. in addition, they don't know what self-employment is all about (if you do it professionally, normally you will have to work full time on your site). i mean, i hate my competitors, but i know what it takes to get there.
longer-term success with adsense is about many different skills.. catching forum talk doesn't suffice.
The internet is a very competitive market because almost anyone in the world can use it and create something on it if they tried hard enough. Thus, like any market, the innovators are the ones who are successful. The first few copycats get slim pickings, but once that 'niche' is full, almost everyone suffers (unless the market leader can hold the top spot through innovation). If someone is doing something better than you... perhaps providing the best and easiest site to navigate about widgets... then why should you expect to be top earner in that market?
For example... the million dollar homepage. It took a novel idea of selling pixels on a website for advertising, and reached his goal because he's the first to do it. But there have been countless copycats, innovating on the idea but that whole niche of selling pixels has seemed to pass.
Because it's 'the web,' its almost unlimited potential in size allows people to develop new ideas and niches everyday. Those who find those niches are the ones who will make the most profits. Those who complain because their market share is being eaten into... well they're not innovative enough.
