Hello,

I have a webiste running for last 3 months. I was getting 3$ a day when my pages are not properly organized. Now, I revamped every thing and kept the ads in proper places . I am using 2 Horizontal 468 X 60 Banners, Verticle 120X600 skyscraper and 1 link unit along with Adsense for Search. Though my no of visitors and no of clicks increased, My revenew is going down. For example, I had 7 clicks today with 0.13$. It is little bit surprising for me. Can any one throw some light and advice me what should I do to increase the revenew?

My site is purely information site related to Travel, Places, News, Movies and Music specific to India.

Thanks in advance!

When you log into adsense, have a look at the ctr by individual ad unit, and compare that to the default by page option. Go to advanced reports and click the drop down box to change this.

With the by page option, the page impressions are used, and the number of clicks you get from ALL blocks are divided by the number of page impressions. This can be misleading, as effectively adding extra ad blocks doesn't decrease your ctr. Showing the ctr of individual units uses the number of ad impressions and is often considerably lower than by page, and represents the true statistic. Adding extra ad blocks will decrease your ctr dramatically if they don't get the clicks.

What many of us have found is that having only one block on the page actually gives us a better income. The mechanism as to why this is is a matter of debate, but it's generally accepted as being a known technique that works. By putting a channel on each banner you can monitor the effectiveness, and remove blocks that don't work for you. Blocks that have a lot of impressions and few clicks really drag down overall ctr, and that may be the key.

You just maxed out on allowed total ads
(except for referrals too)
I wonder if you have room for content

Hi David and Hubbs!

All my pages are lengthy ones. I Donot see problem with that.

Average CTR by Individual Ad Unit is 2.03 and eCPM is 7.21. Where as with 2.59 & 9.27 respectively. Is is also seen that majority of the ad units though have impressions, have ZERO CTR and eCPM. Do you guys suggest me to remove those Ad Units with ZERO CTR and CPM? I have been running AdSense for 20 days only.

The Ad units in the pages with good CTR and eCPM are all doing good.

Thanks in advance for your advice!
