I'm starting a new site and am looking for the best position to position my adsense blocks.

I was planning on inserting an adsense link unit right under the main header, blending in with the header. (see <snip> )

If the ads are relevant, those ads could be easely mistaken for site navigation with the exception that the words 'ads by google' are there.

Two questions I have;

- Is this allowed? Or do I need distint them more from the site (although google is advising us to blend in ads). Since it's a link unit, users must click twice anyway before I make any money/advertiser pay any money.

- Is this advised?
I can imagine people accidently clicking them when they don't immediatly find what they are looking for on my site, so basically I would be driving the visitors off my site.
On the other hand, if people clickt those links, they come on a page where they can only go two ways, and that's clicking an ad, or hitting the back button to return to my site.

Some Adlinks are really perfect integrated in the navigation

I was yesterday at one of my internet promotion clients, he asked me for a good graphican.

I showed him the web site of a good graphican.

I clicked on a link in the navigation, some seconds later I realized that it was a 468x15 AdLink.

I have an adlinks block in a nice location on my home page, blended in. I figure that if people don't see what they want on my home page, they might as well have another option.

Have you been to About lately? Is their blending of AdLinks ("offers") about what you had in mind?

I don't see any adlinks on about, maybe it's country based or so.

Anyway, if you have for example have a look at linux.org, instead of adding a 468x60 banner, I would include a 728x15 leaderboard link unit with text set to white, and border and background to the same color as the color of the header, making it appear as a part of the header.
