It's possible this was disguised earlier by the lower account wide click value we were seeing when experimenting with Adlinks and worrying about SmartPricing. The best performing page in the channel features quality advertisers with a solid click-through. The worst performing page in the channel features nothing but MFA's. Initially, all four pages in the channel showed pretty much the same ads, as they address different aspects of the same subject.
If Adsense is really tuning into the difference in ad performance on individual pages, maybe they will start backing away from domain wide SmartPricing penalties. This would result in higher earnings for both publishers and Google, and eliminate the SmartPricing penalty for experimenting with including more pages. If they want to SmartPrice a collection of individual pages on our site, we can just remove Adsense from those pages as they aren't making money for either of us.
Is anybody else seeing this behavior? Could it be a result of the update last week?
