How many ad units in a page?

I was wondering how many ad and link units in a page?

Maximum allowed is 3 ad units plus one link unit.

Thank you for your answers, Actually I asked this because I am running one ad unit 728X90 and one horizantal link unit on my test page but now I am running 3 ad unit with 1 link unit. When I first viewed the page only one ad link appeared out of 3 so I get curious about and I asked to this forum.

Anyway I want to ask another thing, how this change affect my earnings? What is your opinion?
