that is kind of wierd isn't it?
If your site topic is cartoons, wouldn't it be unnecessary to send your visitors away to "view ads about boats"?will these ads also generate earnings?
Well the other ads were also well targetted, so it's not like the visitors will get the option to change to ads completely different from the subject of the site.
but yesterday (today it's gone) i noticed another kind of ad appearing from time to time on my site and which i find even more interesting.
it is a leaderboard with normal three text ads and then a search box to the right with text "change to ads about" above.
so you can type in a keyword and ads to that keyword are displayed. nice.
unfortunately, the font face for the whole block changed from the standard leaderboard font to arial to fit the size plus the search box color is white on my dark background, which on my site doesn't look very appealing. if they only let us change some styles..
I don't understand why Google ignores publisher opinions. There's a free "render-farm" available. Is it so hard to send a survey request to publishers before making important changes? I wouldn't feel disturbed. That would be a respectful attitude.
