Hi,

Normally we get aprox. 150 clicks daily... but yesterday somehow we had 380 clicks, with twice bigger CTR.

Should I email google?

Or leave all like this?

Regards

Hello

If this doubling of the amount of clicks is out of the blue then Yes! I would write to AdSense and let them know that you are worried about the numbers and could they look into the discrepancy.

It is better to be safe than sorry. I had a similar incident about 6 months ago where I saw some suspicious clicks. I asked AdSense to look into it and they did. They took a few dollars back of my account and that was the end of it.

Hope this rests your mind a little

I wonder if Google just deletes these Emails. Why? Google must have trip wires in place to each account gets flagged when there is something going on such as more than double CTR.

It is Googles goal to get a high CTR so its not totaly weird. Bottom line is dont worry too much.

PS. It could be a click dump.

Okay, but I have just emailed them for security reasons because they should know I have nothing to do with this.

I also offered server logs, but I supose they won't need them at all.

sezampicika you have done the best thing. Even if this is a click dump or just a good day, you are showing that you are an honest webmaster and if there ever is a problem in the future AdSense may look back at your account and see that you are a genuine individual.

It happened to me once, I emailed google, and got no response from them. I suppose you emailing them won't make any difference.

I guess it does not occur to crooks to report unusual activity once in a while..
No reasons are needed for integrity, I highly suspect they would take reporting into consideration if they catch someone given the sophisticated con artists they catch regularly.
Reporting suspicious earnings is good for its own merit, period.

Over a two-day period, I once got 7 clicks more than I usually get. I pulled my ads and emailed Google. They thanked me for letting them know about this and they said they would monitor the situation. They also said I didn't need to remove the ads from my site.

Nothing has happened since then, but I notice that my page impressions have dropped about 75% and my traffic hasn't decreased.

Are your stats so accurate, that you can tell if
you've got 4, 7 or 8 more clicks than you usually get over a two-day period?

It will not hurt you to report things that seem strange to you.

>my page impressions have dropped about 75%

Do you think it is related to your reporting?

Hobbs

I wouldn't know, but being on the game and honest never hurts.

I reported a few things and to be honest I do think that it hurt me once but things came back to above normal after.

Cheers

Today again some "click" attack...

Google has thanked me for helping, I gave them my FTP username and password (for logs) and they are investigating this...

I hope it will be okay. Regards!

"Over a two-day period, I once got 7 clicks more than I usually get."

WHAT! Is this a worry? Does not your traffic grow over time ...

I guess this is a problem if you have Avg. 5 clicks/day and then suddenly one day you have 12?

Is this good advice?

Should I start mailing Google every 7 days because my traffic and clicks vary every few days .

I totally confused ..Pls guide. ;-)

Maybe it is like this for him:

he had 10 clicks first day... and then 70 (7 times more)? :-)

btw. My site is constantly click attacked, how can I fight that... Google was very friendly and they told they will modify my earnings... but still, I should do something, if I can.

Regards!

from some posts of him, i think i remember that andrew bassett is known to be an extreme low performer and he has no problem to openly admit that. so 7 clicks more on his site is significant ;))
