Long before the end of April, the account passed the hundred-dollar mark, so I'd expected to receive a check. Instead, I received an e-mail saying that a PIN had just been snail-mailed to me, and that I should allow about a month for it to arrive.
Since account changes only "count" for a given month if they take place before the fifteenth of that month, naturally I didn't get a check for April. With any luck, I may receive the PIN (so I can unlock my account) by the end of May. This change will count for June, and I may get a check in July.
However, with all the prominent notes regarding "if your PIN doesn't arrive, you can reapply, but you have to wait a month", I'm expecting this piece of mail to be "lost". So, at the end of May, I'll reapply (or maybe I'll have to wait until the end of June?), and then maybe the PIN will arrive at the end of July, so I can unlock the account in August, and they'll send a check in September.
For ads that started running in March.
Is this typical? I mean, with all the scammers trying to make a quick buck churning domain names with slapped-together content-less sites, I can understand the delay: it can sort out a lot of the crooks, since they won't have the same e-mail addresses or domains (having been caught and shut down) by the time monies would otherwise be due. But six months...?
I don't "need" the AdSense income (my site is academic, and is supported by a long-suffering spouse), but I would appreciate some feedback on timelines, so at least we have some rough idea of when we might expect payments to begin.
Thank you.
Eliz.
You might want to review the AdSense site for a very detailed explanation of the payment time line. Logon and click on the "View payment history" link. Then the "When will I get paid?" link. (If for some reason you don't see the link, search for "When will I get paid" with the "Search AdSense Help" button.)
I received my PIN in about 10 days (northeast US).
Keep a sharp eye out for it, however, as it is only a small (4 1/2" x 6") bi-folded card that could easily get mixed in with junk mail... I almost threw mine out! I believe this is why there are the "prominent notes" about reapplying.
Additionally, there is no colorful Google logo to help you spot it, just a plain black (and very small) return address.
