I have another site about cooking.. it was my little friend on witch i spend the most time.. almost 16 hours a day. Earnt me 100$+ a month. Lot more content, lot more love, lot more html art and nice architecture of the UI. It cost me a relationship and maybe more...
What i will say is that i became scared of my own sites! Last month i stopped the first one.. no adsense anymore no earings. But it feel better. PS site was ok by TOS... but with sites you can create whole lookalike company's running on 1 man. Thats the problem.
On the other side its not fear that you earn for a high traffic site a lot less than a mafia alike site. (rental companies are mafia, and dont let me talk about cooking world or every other niche)
maybe i have to become garden man, and yes without a site ;)
So to give this topic a little kick; Adsense is just the wrong word.. we will need AdMoral or AdWorkers.

What i will see is fair coffee and fair internet. I'll come as lot of you from the good old BBS scene. Now i see that internet is scary.. after 20 years.

Jurri is right.. 200$ is nothing, it was a small site; 4500 uniques a month! By webalizer.. when i look at analytics it was a lot less. CTR rates where about 10%.
But it was a site with a live, out of my control. Maybe my problem but still :/
And i think there was no value.. crazy haha. I see more value when a visitor prints my meatballs recipt.
Really, this sounds like you are posting that you feel this adsense thing is unethical. If true, don't shut down your sites, sell them to someone else..

some people run mfa websites that basically steal money from advertisers... your websites do not sound like that to me.
your sites are honorable, and you are giving your advertisers quality leads that they will gladly pay for... if you doubt the value of your websites, contact adsense support, and ask them for an opinion.

You never started the site to try and con people or trick them.
You could be SAVING advertisers money by providing legitmate leads for them to follow up. That is the idea behind adsense - for legitmate leads and potential sales.
Your personal life has had some affect due to your interest but you should not question your morals. You had honorable intentions and it sounds as if they provide useful information.
A time-out from the scene and selling your website may be a choice that you decide to do. It is MFA sites that are deliberately set up to con and trick users into clicking adverts that is unethical, not the adsense programme.
Adsense is just another advertising medium. If adsense is unethical then it could be said ALL advertising is unethical... and in a sense it is because results can never be the same as the hype around the claims by the marketing companies.
- Work is more moral than AdSense
- Making money from a (high) traffic site is scary
- One man operations are worrying

You are confusing ethical with the comfort of working in your topic, how many people do you know that hate their 9 to 5 jobs but still wake up in the morning and go to work?

Advertising affords the billion users of the web the free information. Or you are saying the AdSense specifically has something wrong with it?
I think it is well known with adsense that on a lot of subjects writing the best possible web site for your visitors is not the way to maximise revenue.
I disagree. If you build so it's best for users - they're happy. They are your customers, so to speak. If they come back, and tell others about it - or better, link to it, you profit, regardless of ecpm, etc.
But i would like to clear some things. The site i was talking about was not MFA. Maybe MWA..... (Made WITH Adsense)
To tell a little history; i started the adsense carriere with a site that was not legal by TOS. It was about softdrugs..
My own stupid fault but i earned more than 1500$ (adsense money) with that site. After a year google has stopped the fun and asked me to stop de advertisements on that site... i did. A while after that i pulled out the whole site. (never saw police for this site)
Then the rental marked has my interest.. within 6 months i was contacted by police, because some clients payd for a home that they never get.
Thats makes me think again... While i was having some toilet minutes my brains popped out the cooking site! This one is etical the best site..... dont talk about foie gras!
Ok lets gardening for a while, maybe ill come back with some other projects in a few years. The most important thing i learned is that your interactive (enterprise) site has to have potentials to be easy managed.
In my private box i had the first bid on the rental site.. 1000$ haha. Thnx guys!

Are you talking about an actual house or your web site?
If your web site, how have they paid for something they never got if you withdrew AdSense?

of course the police investigated the site involved and probably cleared the OP
The first site was a site with the posibility for all users to place an advertisement for their rental house(s).
My cooking site is still alive and cooking.
I'll have a nice free domain to build a garden site.. and it will be nice to do that. But I appreciate the advices to take a little break.

The last poster ve3cnu understands the problem.. the police contacted me to get the IP address of the user who posted a advertisement of a house that did'nt belong to him. He earnt a few thousant EURO's from different people with this kind of silly trick.
What i will say is too complex i think, but the toilet minutes are alway's great. I miss a team with people who want to give up their time to help me build the webbuildings i want to build. Family don't understand what youre doing etc..
