My traffic this Saturday morning is dead, on its back, going nowhere rapidly. China, India, Europe obviously intent with enjoying a Spring holiday and not using the Net.

Is Monday 1st May an official/major holiday in the USA?

Are you seeing similar?

It is never a holiday in India. We work seven days a week .. well maybe a few hours off on one weekday.

Cinco de Mayo is this week for Mexico.

The beer and tequlia companies along with the national restaurant chains have promoted it heavy the last 5 years. The media tells the US public it should party, so it does. The only thing it is in the middle of the week. Solution: party both weekends. Ah, you have to love this place, the blatant corporately induced debauchery. (I'm in AZ)

No, but a lot of people may be taking Monday off. I don't know how that will affect internet traffic.

Today traffic is going down too fast.
Here in Europe 1st of May is Labor Day = Monday is Off!

Its a bank holiday (Monday) weekend here in the UK, but not in the US, I don't think.

I think I'd better be having a word with my Directors of 30 years in Tamil Nadu since we have never worked Sundays and Saturdays are overtime!

Time to crack the whip:-))

I see that the USA celebrate May 1st as May Day but not as a holiday!

Interestingly it would also appear to be "Save the Rhino Day" in the USA! Now what's all that about?

We work, 10 to 18.30 on monday to saturday with overtime if working beyond 18.30. Sunday is always holiday with us. Its true that few (big in number) tech savvys are working 18 hrs a day and seven days a week but not true for companies. :-)

"We work, 10 to 18.30 on monday to saturday with overtime if working beyond 18.30"

Lucky guy...overtime is unheard of, in most managerial positions in India...

Isn't May 1st the labor day for communist countries?

There aren't many Communist countries left these days, but in any event, May Day predates modern political partise or the labor movement:

[workers.labor.net.au...]

Side note: Today (Saturday, April 29) is the first day in living memory when I turned on my computer and had no e-mail waiting for me. And affiliate bookings are off to a much slower start than usual on a weekend. (Probably because a major part of my audience is European, and Europeans aren't planning holidays because they're taking a holiday this weekend.)

There are two words that explain the decline in traffic. The words are: "nice weather". Parts of the country which are coming off cold winters are suddenly warming up and people are getting off their computers for a bit.

Maybe where you live--or if you're a slug who thrives in the rain. :-)

Yes I read that before I posted (I always investigate) but it has evolved as a big party holiday here in the Southwest due to commercial promotion. I didn't know what it really was until I read the historical account this morning and I have been living in AZ for 15 years.

Most people think it is Mexican independence day, I did.

Well, today started very slow, but is now a pretty average Saturday. Beautiful weather across the eastern US, but people do come back indoors eventually....

BillDex,

I think they are talking about the whole long weekend traffic decline trend in general.

Lowest day here in a long while, in terms of traffic and revenue.

Well, April has certainly been the quietest month for me since last year.

The weekends have become quieter and quieter, with this weekend being the quietest. Today has bottomed out and been one of the lowest earning days during this month for me

Somewhere in the mountains of Cali it was the first day I was able to swim in the lake though it was only a cold quickie. We received 340 inches of snow between march 1 and april 23 and today it reached almost 70 degrees.
Most of my traffic is from this area too and it is among my worst adsense days in well over two years.

Was a nice day though.:)

Bad couple of days for traffic Friday and Saturday, for that I lost over 200-400$ , nice weather though but thats not important adsense is ... so lets hope it all creeps back up.

I'm noticing the same thing on my US/UK/Canada sites. Traffic down 10-15% on Friday/Saturday. Hopefully it's the weather.

What a roller coaster of a week!

My highest-ever two days' earnings then Saturday with my second lowest earning day of the month after Easter Sunday!

I hope today does not continue in the same vein as the first few hours otherwise I will definitely have my worst day of the month.

However, taken as an entire week, it's been very, very good and overall April has been my best-ever month's earnings.

If I can increase by the same percentage this next 12 months as the last 12 months, wow...I'll be a very happy bunny.
