How many unique visitors a day is enough?

I just posted my site in mid april, and it already gets about 10 unique visits per day. Is this enought to start adsense? I have heard a lot of talk of adsense not doing to well. Should I even bother with it?

For many sites, AdSense is the best option available, by far. Where did you hear this "talk"?

But no site is going to earn much money from ANY advertising program with only 10 visitors/day. You could apply to AdSense, and you may even be accepted. But I'd be very surprised if you earned more than a few cents per day. A dollar, tops.

You can only expect a few pennies a day from that, and it will be several years at this rate before you would qualify to receive a check.

Seems to me it would be better to leave it ad-free as you try to build traffic.

You're going to need a lot more traffic than that to make money from anything. Work on getting your traffic up.

Give him a chance, will you? 10 uniques in a few days is not too bad. Why should it take him years to qualify for check? If he gets couple of hundred uniques after a few months, he could get to the check much sooner.

That's why I said "at this rate".

The point is that it is much easier to generate links and return visits if you're not showing ads.

Well, let's assume a CTR (click through rate) of 2%.
With 10 uniques per day surfing about 4 pages it'll be 40*30=1200 pageviews a month. That means, on my assumptions, 24 clicks per month. Average per click $0.10, then means $2.4 per month. With this rate you can expect the first Google cheque in 2 years.

There are a lot of factors to take into account. The first thing to realise is that in most industries, 10 unique a day will not generate you much income.

If I where you I would work in getting the site a lot more popular before you place Adsense code on it.

I "believe" that getting links to a site is a lot easier with a clean site. Sites with adverts have a harder job getting links in the early days because it can be harder to get links if your site if concurred commercial.

Off course, because the site is new and I don't want to discourage you, please don't take my last post too serious. Built on your site and built on your traffic. It just takes time to earn something on the internet. The get rich quick scheme doesn't exist anymore.

Hi naitsirhc26. There is something we all call "Traffic" in our language. And Yes! its far more than 10 uniques per day.

You need much more traffic man! Work on it!

If your site is new you can apply for adwords and similar programs and receive $50 or $100 as a promotion for new clients. For the first month, it will be ok to receive 2000 visitors.

Well, no. That # of visitors could just be your friends and family, plus maybe a search engine robot.

Once you get to 100/day you can be fairly confident that you are getting real traffic.

For comparison, I have a site that has a pretty narrow audience, and it averages 1,500 visitors daily. And that's tiny compared to some of the sites run by people here.

naitsirhc26, since your traffic is microscopic, you might have better success making money from it by finding an affiliate program that pays per lead or sale depending on what type of traffic it is. If your visitors find you by searching for 'buy a widget' then you could probably make some money off the 10 visitors or so. Once you have more unique visitors per day (ie. a few hundred), then you should incorporate adsense.

Thank you very much for all of your help. I have already submitted my site to search engines, and some directories. What should I do know. Just wait. Once I get 100 visitors per day I am going to start adsense.

write some good articles on your topic, then submit them to some article sites.... include your bio and a link to your site.... build some link partners...

everyone starts somewhere.... and you might as well apply for adsense.... a click is a click... you'll also get use to the adsense control panel, and by reading tips it will help you improve on your ad placment and what you should focus on....

Truth, make a site people are looking for and they will find you.... make an adsense site and its going to be a lonly day....

I've seen clicks from several ad sites hitting over $3 for a single click.... so if you get one click a day which is resonable for 10 people, viewing 10-30 pages.

Also find larger message boards about your site topic and post helpful responses, and add your site to the signature section....

focus on building links outside of search engines....

life will be easier.... if you depend on 90% of traffic from the engines, one minor change could destroy your site..... engines are looking for good sites to get repeat search customers..... not sites looking to make money....

so make good content, and people will link to you as well as engines will find you....

good luck... one day you may look at your stats and say oh we are having a bad day, with over 1000 unq's
