I have a website that is a collection of celebrity wallpapers. Can this site qualify for google adsense? I am noticing a provision about copyright material in their eligibility criteria and wanted to know if this would violate it? Basically it is a collection of wallpapers for Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, angelina Jolie etc
However, given the fact that most celebrity photographers (aka Paparazzi) earn their money by selling the photos (not by putting Adsense on wallpapers made from their photos), I assume that you are using photos from other sites or from the yellow press. If this is so, then you are most likely violating the copyright of the photographer and/or the publication.
Only you know the source of your wallpapers, so it's your call anyway.
Google is not your problem. Your problem are the rightful owners of the photos you are using (stealing). Professional photographers and photo agencies can get quite nasty at times when you use their photos in whatever context you think is okay. They can get even more nasty when they see ads pumped around their photos (because you can't back out by quoting "fair use").
You see, Google is just your desired way to monetize on stolen content, but even if Google greenlight your site, this does not mean that you are out of trouble...!
yeah i just took them off google images so no i did not take these photos. well there is some text and original content i am curious as to how google will review this. thanks for the clarification
If any owner of a stolen image files a DMCA complaint with Google, you'll stand to lose your AdSense account and your search listings.
Theft isn't just illegal, it's also stupid. Don't do it.
