Pls clarify post. Pls avoid spelling mistakes and use correct grammar so that we can understand what you are saying. This is not really a guessing game.

"This is not really a guessing game"

Indeed, Adsense in itself is difficult enough.
All of us are prepared to help, but please try to communicate a bit more clearly. Thanks.

"lotsa cash"

You just won't give up do you?
However, I do understand you now...
I am glad to hear search does well for you.
Unfortunately, I don't make too much cash with it.
Somehow, my visitors are not much interested in doing a new search query. How do you manage to get your search ctr so high? It's really amazing!

One factor in your success maybe that "Adsense search" is not working well.

It's likely we're all (all those using Adsense search) losing visitors prematurely.

Many searches that should return legitimate site results return nothing, therefore nothing but ads are shown, about 10 I think. This could explain the good CTR, bad search results generate an exit click.

Regarding 50% CTR, I have that too! 2 queries / 1 click = 50% CTR. Some days I've had 200% CTR with just one query (for the day)! Of course some days I have no queries.

I am wondering though if the ads shown are mostly premium ads and may be more desireable. So desirable ads displayed with no, or limited, search results makes for good CTR.

Yes, search CTR is extremely high, but the value of clicks are about 5% of ad clicks.

Search generates extremely high clickthrough rates and eCPM on my site.

Unfortunately, my readers have never used internal search much (even when I had a search box plastered at the top of every page), so the high CTR and eCPM don't translate into significant revenues. Still, using AdSense for search is worthwhile because:

(a) It generates income with no effort or cost on my part.

(b) Since Google is my biggest search-engine referrer, using Google for internal search means that I'm giving users an interface that they already know and like.

On an average day CTR is between 2 and 5 times as good with search. Search doesn't seem to have as many clicks that pay in the $0.50 and up range for me, but it doesn't seem to have many that pay under $0.10 either. On average, search pays me a few cents more per click than content.

The way I view it, is that search is free money. I don't have to produce any actual content to make a few extra bucks a day. It doesn't pay as much as the site content, but it pays more than any one page.

Search is terrible for me.. with eCPM below $4.00

I get mostly 1- 2 cent clicks .

What am I doing wrong?

Bajpa,
Google's take from search clicks is far greater than ad clicks because they provide the search facility for your site. Ok, perhaps the 5% value was exaggerating things, but you should find search clicks are worth significantly less, unless of course, the values of your ad clicks are in the low single digits.
