Previewing ad placements

Is there any way to preview different ad placements on my private network without my page views diluting EPM and CTR?

I'm thinking of moving some ads around and want to see how the pages would look with the new ads but don't want my impressions to count. Obviously the preview tool is no good for this because I want to look at actual ad placements (not necessarily the content of the ads themselves).

Is there a "test mode" AdSense server or something similar?

Thanks David, that is exactly what I am looking for. :)

I wondered if this kind of thing would exist (I would have though loads of people would have requested it already) but my searches came up with nothing. I'll email Google to check whether it's legit before using it.

According to Google there is officially no way to preview ad placements in "test mode", so the code mentioned in the above thread may be for premium publishers only and at any rate it is not recommended that it be used (i.e. modifying the AdSense code).
