The filter really should allow wildcards.

I've been removing ebay ads since they are not targeted (the ads just say "buy stuff here at ebay!").

so I removed www.ebay.com

only to find ebay.com ads

then eBay.com ads.

so I block them too, only to find

ebay.ca ads.

ugh.

now I am seeing some weird redirect like redirect02.com/ebay (not actual site name) which redirects to ebay, apparently it's some sort of affiliate of ebay.

If wildcards were allowed, I could add *ebay* and block the whole bunch of them properly.

The most common reason is blocking www.example.com instead of example.com

Reply to the form letter you received, providing examples. This should help you get a personalized reply.

will try it.

i would be as stupid as a barn door to stay with it, if they cant get it right, costing money to have clients leave my site to purchase same service at comps site.

thank you.

No matter how hard you try, there is no guarantee that you are going to be able to block all of the directly competing products if you are in ecommerce. While it would be great to show only complimentary products, there are just so many advertisers, and a publisher never really knows what his visitors are seeing.

Just a thought :)

i know its just my site is an employment site and all the ads are for sites like mine IE monster flipdog ect. it would be cool if it was ads for business loans and resumes. it just seems dumb to put ads on anybodys site to cut into what the site sells service or products, for pennys per click. when that one click could cost me/you money.

im just unhappy with it.
