I just took a look at a couple of my sites and noticed that widget.com displays different ads then www.widget.com.

Why does this happen?

I can imagine Adsense will serve other ads at
winter.widget.com than at summer.widget.com.
But Adsense would surely be smart enough to recognize www.widget.com as being the most neutral subdomain of widget.com?

Perhaps a stupid question, but do www.widget.com and widget.com have the same content?

always route your domain.com to www.domain.com by 301 reditect. Google treats domain.com and www.domain.com as separate.

You should never launch your website without this 301 reditect. I once got different PRs on these 2 different variations. And when I joined the 2, my ratings went a bit down in the SEs.

Though, I am going to get top ranking anyways! But I a feeling a bit low organic traffic now.

I am actually seeing PSA's when I check the site from one IP and good targetted ads from another IP.

Yesterday was actually one of my better days as far as revenue goes, but it is still strange that I am seeing different ads depending on what IP I hit the site from.

I have to wonder then how many users are seeing the PSA's compared to how many are seeing real ads if two different IP's from the same city are producing different results.

If you had alternate ads set up, you'd be able to see how many users are seeing your alternate ads (which would be PSAs if you hadn't set up alternate ads) as opposed to real ads because you can track in your logs how many times the alternate ads are being called.

Thats a good idea. I will implement that when I can.
