I said earlier when I joined WW that I wanted to do tutorials on web design technologies? However, I'm having second thoughts since there are so many of them out there. Consequently, I've also been hit by a flood of new ideas for websites. what I'd like top know is that since I'm half way through my first tutorial site, should I scrap the tutorial idea and work on my new ideas?

This is very much a personal choice. If you can offer something unique/different regarding tutorials, then it may be worth the effort.
If on the other hand you have a new concept for something which hasn't been saturated on the internet, my choice would be to go full on with that idea :-)
