even if page impressions are updated. I have been given 3 clicks from one page today that no one went on but got about 4 impressions yesterday. I am assuming these were for clicks that took place yesterday.

Page impressions [ and hence the other data ] seems to be some hours delayed.

The reason I say this is that I can go to bed and when I check in the morning, the page impressions and rest of the data are more or less double what they were the previous night. Bearing in mind that page impressions are negligible during the night-time in comparison to the day-time.

Having said all that, I think the reports work on USA time, rather than UK time.

We already know that the updates themselves are not done real-time and presumably there must be some validation process done prior to posting because in the 20 months that I've been obsessively watching the numbers in many channels I've never seen a click disappear.

Given that, I think it's reasonable to assume that some clicks take longer to validate/post than others and that there are probably several different queues of unvalidated clicks waiting to be posted at any one time. Impressions and clicks would be separate queues because impressions need no validation.

This would explain many puzzling situations where the postings aren't arriving at times when they logically should. In particular it would explain fat mornings and lean afternoons which I've seen a lot.
