If I were idea man for Adsense, I'd have an ad would that take up the front page of a website and with a CONTINUE button.

I'd go for advertisers like Ford Motors, Geico, etc. with a nice flash ... Yeh, that's what I'd do.

And .. there would be on survey ads, etc.

And just watch them hit that "skip" button!

That's a nightmare scenario, where have you been for the past 10 years?

It's been tried, overdone and discarded. Next you'll want unsolicted pop-unders, pop-overs and autoloaded pages in the background...

Are you referring to the AdSense "rich media" beta?

Now if I clicked on an entry in the search listings expecting to find information and I landed on such an ad instead, I don't somehow think I'd be rushing to find my credit card, or click on it either.

funny how people lump together different ad types. it's all the same for them: ads are ads. somehow they are there, but no clue why. the only distinction is that animated flashy ads are cool and text ads are ugly.

man, ads are no end in itself, they have to serve a purpose! and the purpose has necessarily something to do with usefulness for a) visitors b) advertisers c) publishers! i'd suggest you sit down again and read and learn something more about this whole advertising thingy.
