Clicks without earnings

Is it normal and why does it happen?

Hello:

Yesterday I decided to change the ad placement on one of my lowest earning ad after watching some tutorial featured in Google's Adsense.

So today I entered to check how it went, and the clicks got up. I was having about 1 or 2 clicks on that ad channel, but the same day I made the change I got 6 clicks, almost a 300% improvement. The problem is that for all those clicks I only got $0.01

Is that normal? Somewhere I read that sometimes that happened and then Google compensated next day or something like that.

I would really appreciate some feedback on this to understand what may be going on.

Thanks

Sometimes they withold clicks for verification then release them, called a "click dump" sometimes this is confused with smart pricing.

Some of the clicks may have been on PSA's. I can't remember if they count in the statostics or not - I think they do.

Have you clicked on your own ads? I accidentally clicked on one just after starting but when I checked I found the click registered but no income.

Sometimes it's possible that a user clicked on the same ad multiple times, this could render you liable for invalid clicks if you do not have enough page impressions and your CTR is above 90% then get worried, each invalid click (multiple clicks on the same advertiser) could risk you loosing your account.

My solution:
Put more keywords on your page, the less likely the user will hit the same ad twice.

site-targeted ads will show zero earnings if they are clicked on, because you get paid only by the number of ad impressions.

you can check your adsense stats to see how many site-targeted ads your site has been serving.
